Music
Snobbery Test
August
1, 2003
Everyone
likes to think they're on top of their game when it comes
to music. We all like to think we're hip and listening
to stuff that's both socially acceptable and yet obscurely
cool. But the disappointing truth is – you can't
have it all. We all must fall into a category on the ever
changing spectrum of music knowledge and personal taste.
The music spectrum, like all spectrums, has two extreme
ends. On one end – The "mindless music zombie."
On the other end – the "elitist music snob."
And an evolutionary scale of those in between.
To help determine your status on the music spectrum, we
have devised a music snobbery test. Keep in mind, "elitist
music snob" is not always a good thing. Because like
many spectrums, the extreme ends may actually touch each
other, as a spectrum can come full circle. To be an "elitist
music snob" you may be obstructing your view of music
so extremely that you actually have more in common with
a passively
ignorant "mindless music zombie." Falling somewhere
in the middle is actually more open-minded then being
snobbish.
This test consists of 10 questions with 5 possible answers
to each. Please select one answer for each question, then
hit the "submit" button. The answers are ranked
in value from 0-4. Once you have submitted your test,
it will automatically calculate and display your numeric
score.
