Bio: Who
the hell am I? Good question. Well, for starters, I work for the Smithsonian, and I live in Manhattan.
I just came back here after four years in Washington,
DC and I couldn't be happier. I made tons of really great
friends in DC but it is missing the vitality of NYC. And
if you live in DC you have to be somewhat interested in
politics, and I definitely am not.
I don't really dig sports either – unless it means
beer in the bleachers at a ball game. But books and music
– that's me. I read a lot, mostly nonfiction, but
I'm always up for a good novel if it comes highly recommended.
And I'm constantly floored by the great music out there.
When all of the Limp Bizkits and Stainds and all that
other crap became "rock & roll" I started
looking elsewhere and found incredible stuff: the Crystal
Method, Spiritualized, this great band called Jonesamatic,
and tons of other groups and players who are doing tons
of new and exciting things.
I'm a drummer and I've been lucky enough to play and record
with some pretty legendary people. Right now me and an
old friend (who happens to be a great bass player) are
figuring out how to use this recording software we scored,
and then we're going into the studio and just hitting
'record.' Once we get some bass & drums down, we're
going to call all of our friends and ask them to add in
their guitar playing, singing, piano playing or whatever.
We figure the best thing we have going for us is we have
absolutely no idea what we're doing. It should be a blast.
